Autolus, a biopharmaceutical company that develops next-generation programmed T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer, has announced plans to take up the fifth floor of the MediaWorks building, which will be comprised of 33,000 sq ft of office and lab space. The lease is due to start in October 2018.
The first life sciences company to take up space at the site, Autolus joins other tech tenants in the prestigious building, including Yoox-Net-A-Porter (YNAP) and co-working group Huckletree West.
Eiichiro Onozawa, Managing Director of Mitsui Fudosan, has explained that the company hopes the deal will help to establish White City Place as a sought after location for life sciences start-ups and other tech companies: “The arrival of Autolus at White City Place highlights the transformation of the area into a hotbed of scientific and technological innovation following the development of Imperial College’s new campus, and which is increasingly the destination of choice for life sciences companies looking to relocate in London”.
