Galliard Homes and Acorn Property Group have received the green light from Southwark Council to for the construction of Newhams Yard — new £83 million mixed-use development of luxury residences in Bermondsey.
The Newhams Yard scheme in Tower Bridge Road will comprise three buildings of up to 10 storeys delivering 86 deluxe apartments from studios to three-bedroom homes, and 143 aparthotel residences. The buildings will be arranged to create a new public courtyard, with retail, restaurant and office amenities on the ground floors.
The first phase of apartments is due to be completed in 2020, and the aparthotel residences will be operated by The Serviced Apartment Company (SACO).
According to David Galman, sales director at Galliard Homes, the company is “delighted” with the development, and is looking forward to establishing “a new communal hub for the local area”.
Meanwhile, Melanie Omirou, executive group MD and funding director at Acorn Property Group, says: “Acorn Property Group and Galliard Homes have a strong portfolio of chic, high-quality developments in particular across South London that have proven very popular with buyers. Following the positive decision to grant planning permission for Newhams Yard, we look forward to bringing another exceptional scheme to buyers.”
