After a lack of funds stalled progress in 2012, London’s newest skyscraper, the huge £1 billion 22 Bishopsgate development, is now full steam ahead and garnering interest from lots of prominent insurance companies looking to solidify their presence in the prestigious quarter of London.
Market leading insurers Beazley and Hiscox are set to take up 80,000 sq ft of space each once work is complete, and US insurer Aspen has also been linked with the scheme.
The new building – known as TwentyTwo – is being constructed on the site of the former Pinnacle skyscraper, at the heart of the insurance district. Billed as a ‘vertical village’ the new site will include plenty of grade A office space, restaurants, shops and even a climbing wall.
The tower is being developed by Axa Real Estate and Sir Stuart Lipton’s Lipton Rogers Developments and leased by CBRE and JLL.
