Morgan Pryce, London’s commercial property agent, understands that the 25-hectare site will include retail and commercial space as well as a 200-bed hotel and 2,491 homes.
This project will also provide a much-needed boost to the nearby property markets for offices in Vauxhall and offices in Chelsea. The project’s developers, VSM, will also contribute towards improving local infrastructure such as cycle routes, footpaths and public spaces. According to Property Week, a contribution will also be allocated to a section of the linear park which will wind through various developments along the Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area, including Ballymore’s Embassy Gardens and SP Setia’s Battersea Power Station.
Sally Brough, Associate Director at Morgan Pryce, comments, “To date, this is the largest development proposal in the area”. Seema Manchanda, Assistant Director of Planning at Wandsworth Council, adds: “This permission is one more step in delivering the Vauxhall/Nine Elms/Battersea strategy.”
