London’s most iconic building, The Shard, has seen an influx of new deals in the last few days. The Shard, the tallest building in Europe, standing at over 306m, is home to a variety of different industries showing the strength of the attraction of one of the World’s most recognisable buildings.
Law firm Greenberg Traurig Maher has signed a deal to take over 19,700 sq. ft. on the eighth floor, whilst Software giants Sage Group will move onto the 17th floor of the building, taking 9,574 sq. ft. This means that Foresight Group, who were located on the 17th floor, will now move up to the 23rd level and take over 17,710 sq. ft.
Teresa Beatty, graduate surveyor at tenant acquisition specialist Morgan Pryce, believes the variety of tenants highlights both the strength of the pulling power of The Shard and the strategy of Sellar Property and the State of Qatar,
“With over 22 companies, spread over 12 industry sectors – ranging from Media, finance, consulting, luxury brands, education, serviced offices, energy, asset management to health care – the Shard has shown itself to be a massive attraction for all manner of businesses. To be located in a prime, iconic building in the Capital is still one of the driving factors when companies consider their office move. However, the diversification of tenants also highlights the strategy of the holding groups behind The Shard; a variety of industries allows for security against industry crisis.”
