Premier Inn receives go ahead for large hotel development in North London

Whitbread and its development partner Locate Developments have secured planning permission for a large new Premier Inn hotel and restaurant in Chipping Barnet in North London.

Built on the site of a former carpark next to The Spires shopping centre and in close proximity to Barnet High Street, the property will be ideally placed for plenty of tourist custom, and will be comprised of three and four storeys housing 100 bedrooms. Once completed, it will be the second Premier Inn hotel located in the borough of Barnet, and is expected to open in 2020.

Acquisition manager at Whitbread, Louise Woodruff, says: “Premier Inn hotels are in high demand across outer London as our guests continue to look for flexible, accessible and high-quality hotel accommodation in the outer boroughs. We have worked closely with our development partner Locate Developments to secure planning permission in Chipping Barnet, adding another excellent location to our network… The development secures long-term investment and job creation in Chipping Barnet town centre and demonstrates how flexible we can be in designing our hotels to fit suburban locations.
