New development further increases Fitzrovia’s popularity

Fitzrovia, also known as Noho, has always been a popular area for fashion companies who appreciate the characterful and quirky buildings the area has to offer. The mix of houses includes concrete, mews and modern glass buildings. Due to its desirable location and amenities, a range of companies naturally want to make it their home.

Major landlord Darwen Estate covers the area, and is currently developing some very interesting buildings: 78 Whitfield Street is going through a complete refurbishment with new reception, WC and showers, overhauled exposed two pipe fan coil air conditioning, and lighting. This will completely change the building from a tired, traditional building to a trendy development which will attract both creative and professional services companies, further adding to the location’s appeal.

Eugene O’Sullivan, Managing Director and Chartered Surveyor says: “The gentrification in the Fitzrovia has brought a new light on it and is increasingly popular for a lot of our clients. We’re anticipating a further increase in interest based on the central location and uniqueness of the area.

“Here, companies can offer employees and clients a mixture of the best that London has to offer; everything from shopping, modern amenities and upscale restaurants, to trendy relaxed locations ideal for the after-work catch up.”

Streets like Charlotte Street serves as excellent examples of what Eugene is referring too, with its wealth in trendy eatery and bars the Noho becoming more popular, and pushing up the rents landlords are able to achieve.
